ISOFAR board members attended 1st International Conference on Organic Agriculture in Deserts and Dry lands in China

Bayannur, China, 3-6 September 2023

The 1st International Conference on Organic Agriculture in Deserts and Dry lands in China successfully took place in Bayannur, China  03rd-06th September 2023 which organized by IFOAM Asia and China Shengmu. Participant from 12 countries has attending this conference with various expertise background. 

The three-day conference covers topic about ecological compensation of organic agriculture, organic management for building soil, regenerative organic carbon, Organic animal husbandry in dryland in India and Tunisia. For the second day, all participant visits Shengmu value chawin centre, Shanshegong water control project, Nailun Lake, Forage production base, Milk Powder Factory, Milk Cow Farm, and Dunlin Lake. The third day, excursion to the ancient sites in inner Mongolia.

Three of ISOFAR Board members included Dr. Mahesh Chander (India), Prof. Khalid Sassi (Tunisia) and Assoc Prof. Dr. Wahyudi David (Indonesia) actively contributed to the conference. The Conference moderated by Dr. Wahyudi David, Prof. Khalid Sassi presented an oral talk organic sustainable management in drylands of Tunisia, followed by Dr. Mahesh Chander presented organic animal husbandry in dryland of India.
